"What's up in space"

Hello everyone,
One of my favorite sites for looking at the activity of the sun and other related info.
http://www.spaceweather.com/
Here is another great website to check out all of the propagation information all in one place. Another ham friend showed me this one.
http://dx.qsl.net/propagation/

I am listening to 28.400 right now and the band is open at the moment. I am hearing stations coming in from the east coast.

Speaking of weather, its looking like its going to be a day close to 80 degrees F here. I cannot believe how warm it is for this time of year. It was just raining a couple of days ago.

A couple of my ham radio's

I was gifted a Kenwood TS 130S from a wonderful ham friend who is my first "Elmer". I use it on 10 meters. One of my other rigs is a Yaesu 857D. I use that one for mostly 6 meters and I have brought this one out camping with us as well.

Sourdough French Toast

This is what I made our son for breakfast.

Sourdough French Toast.

Serving size for 1. If you are not dieting, LOL.

Two slices of sourdough bread
3 eggs
1/2 cup raw milk
Real Maple Syrup, none of that corn syrup junk that they add to pancake syrup. Yuck!

Beat your eggs and milk together. Then dip your sourdough bread slices in the egg and milk mixture on both sides.
On a heated and oiled skillet, I use either olive oil or coconut oil, place your bread in pan on about a medium flame. Cook about 4 minutes or so on each side, until golden brown on each side. You will have to decide how golden brown you like it. The longer you let it cook the more golden brown it will get, obviously.

Enjoy!

What I had for breakfast, the left over egg mixture I scrambled and coffee with raw milk.

I had already made my husband eggs and toast before he left for work.

My 10 Meter Maco 5/8 Vertical Antenna

Beautiful southern California day!

Its nearly 80 degrees here in Claremont, Ca. The sun is shining and its mostly a clear blue sky with a few thin looking clouds. I do love the rain, so I am always looking forward to it when it does.
10 meters has been open for most of the day so far. I am hoping to make a radio contact or two before the day is over.  I am getting things done around the house and then I plan on putting in some time exercising.
I hope that everyone is having a great start to the new year.
Do you have any resolutions for the new year? One of mine is to do what a lot of people are doing when the new year starts, get in better shape. I went to Barnes and Noble and they had a huge display table packed with some great diet and motivational books to help get the year started in the right direction.
Also, I plan on  cooking more meals at home. Clean Eating magazine has some wonderful recipes I plan to make soon. I love to cook, but the last year or so I have been enjoying staying home and cooking our own family meals much more than restaurant meals. Its so much easier to control the salt content in what I make compared to what is in restaurant food. Its amazing how salty things taste when you go out to eat compared to if you make your own food at home and try to cut down on the salt.
